Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Carpenter/Craftsman role based in New York, NY. The Carpenter/Craftsman is responsible for performing a variety of residential carpentry tasks, including repairs, installations, and small-scale construction projects in occupied homes and rental properties. Day-to-day work may include framing, installing or repairing doors, trim, and molding, building or fixing cabinets and shelving, and completing finish carpentry to a high standard of quality. The role also involves assessing job sites, selecting appropriate materials, using hand and power tools safely, and ensuring each project is completed on time and in line with TruBlue’s service standards. The Carpenter/Craftsman will interact directly with clients, provide clear updates on project progress, and help identify additional maintenance needs to support overall home safety and comfort. Qualifications Strong carpentry skills, including experience with residential repairs, installations, and light construction. Proficiency with hand tools and power tools, with a strong focus on safety and proper tool maintenance. Experience in framing and general structural carpentry, including walls, doorways, and basic structural repairs. Demonstrated ability in finish carpentry, such as trim, molding, doors, windows, and cabinetry. Ability to read and follow basic drawings or work orders, measure accurately, and problem-solve on site. Commitment to quality workmanship, attention to detail, and maintaining clean, organized work areas. Strong customer service and communication skills, with a professional, respectful approach in occupied homes. Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and handle multiple tasks or projects in a day. Reliable transportation to job sites in and around New York, NY, and ability to lift and carry materials as needed. Previous experience in residential maintenance, remodeling, or handyman services is preferred; relevant certifications or trade training are a plus.
