Our client is one of the largest concrete contractors in the United States. They are currently seeking skilled concrete carpenters ideally already located in Texas and Oklahoma to work on large concrete projects across both states and possibly beyond. Pay is based on skill ranging from $25-$35 per hour and up to $150 in per diem per day.
Experience with SYMON, MEVA, DOKA, PERI, and or EFCO forms is preferred.
Concrete Carpenter
Role Description
Concrete Carpenters are responsible for constructing and assembling formwork systems that shape concrete into structural and architectural elements. This role requires strong carpentry skills, attention to layout accuracy, and the ability to work with scaffolding, forming systems, and reinforcing steel. Concrete Carpenters play a key role in jobsite safety, precision, and productivity by preparing the structures that support successful concrete placement.
Key Responsibilities • Formwork Construction: Build, set, and strip formwork for a variety of concrete structures. • Accuracy Verification: Verify alignment, dimensions, and elevations of formwork and scaffolding. • Placement Support: Assist with concrete placement and finishing activities as needed. • Safety Practices: Apply safe work methods when handling tools, equipment, and materials.
Tasks & Duties Formwork Construction • Build, erect, and strip forms for slabs, walls, decks, elevator cores, and tilt-up panels. • Install reinforcing steel as required by project scope. • Assemble and modify formwork systems using appropriate carpentry tools and equipment. • Erect and dismantle scaffolding, ladders, and access systems for elevated work. Accuracy Verification • Check level, plumb, and alignment of forms using hand tools such as levels and plumb bobs. • Adjust formwork to meet specified dimensions and tolerances. • Review construction drawings to confirm layout accuracy. Placement Support • Assist laborers and finishers during concrete placement and patching activities. • Stage, move, and prepare equipment and materials for upcoming pours. • Participate in cleanup following placement activities. • Transport, maintain, and organize forming materials and small equipment.
Safety Practices • Follow and promote established safe work practices and maintain safe work areas. • Identify and report unsafe conditions immediately to the Crew Task Lead.
Qualifications • 1–3+ years of concrete construction experience • Commercial construction experience preferred • Experience using concrete tools, equipment, and machinery • Valid driver’s license • Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and E-Verify • Willingness to work off-shift hours and overtime as required • Ability to lift at least 50 lbs • Ability to work at heights across multiple levels
