Formwork Carpenter
Job Description
Join a growing construction team as a Formwork Carpenter, contributing to the construction of warehouses, distribution centers, and light industrial facilities throughout the Lower Mainland. You will work on large-scale industrial and commercial projects where the company self-performs structural concrete and framing, providing long-term opportunities for skilled tradespeople who want to grow with an established builder that values safety, quality, and craftsmanship.
Responsibilities
• Build, install, and strip formwork systems for foundations, walls, columns, slabs, tilt-up panels, and elevated concrete structures.
• Read and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and specifications to plan and execute formwork activities accurately.
• Measure, cut, assemble, and install formwork materials with precision to meet design and quality requirements.
• Assist with layout tasks and preparations for structural concrete pours.
• Install embeds, anchor bolts, blockouts, and other concrete accessories according to project specifications.
• Maintain high quality standards while meeting project schedules and production targets.
• Work safely at all times and follow all site-specific safety policies, procedures, and requirements.
• Collaborate closely with site supervisors, foremen, and other trades to ensure efficient and coordinated project execution.
Essential Skills
• Minimum of 4+ years of experience in concrete formwork carpentry within construction.
• Proven experience working on commercial, industrial, warehouse, or large concrete projects.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
• Proficiency with hand and power tools commonly used in formwork and carpentry.
• Strong understanding of concrete forming systems and construction practices.
• Ability to lift heavy materials and perform physically demanding work throughout the day.
• Reliable transportation to and from project sites in the Lower Mainland.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
• Experience on large-scale industrial and commercial concrete projects is considered a strong asset.
• Background in tilt-up, structural concrete, and framing work.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a site team and communicate clearly with supervisors and other trades.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship.
• Dependable, punctual, and able to work consistently on long-duration projects.

Work Environment
The role is based on projects in the Surrey and Langley, BC area, working primarily on industrial and commercial construction sites. The standard schedule is first shift, Monday to Friday, from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., for approximately 8 hours per day. Assignments are expected to run for 12 years, providing stable, long-term work. You will report to the site superintendent and work in an active construction environment that emphasizes safety, teamwork, and consistent production
Job Type & Location
This is a Permanent position based out of Port Coquitlam, BC.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $37.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
