Position Overview:
Join our team as a Rough Carpentry Specialist, where you will play a vital role in executing essential carpentry functions on various job sites. This is an excellent opportunity for skilled carpenters who are passionate about construction and teamwork.
Key Responsibilities:
• Interpret and comprehend scopes of work based on plans and specifications to effectively complete assignments.
• Manage inventory and communicate supply needs to the Foreman for replenishment.
• Uphold safety standards, ensuring that all team members, subcontractors, and vendors adhere to established protocols.
• Engage in the daily construction of rough carpentry projects, including walkways, structures, enclosures, railings, stairs, and temporary installations for safety and operations.
• Accurately measure, cut, and install materials necessary for project completion.
• Identify potential job site hazards and demonstrate problem-solving skills to address them.
• Collaborate effectively with colleagues, demonstrating high standards of teamwork and leadership.
• Participate in daily safety meetings and adhere to operating procedures with personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Operate construction equipment safely and efficiently, including forklifts and other machinery as required.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors regarding any issues or escalations during work.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment while tracking progress on assigned tasks.
• Foster positive relationships with clients, contractors, suppliers, and fellow employees.
• Perform various other related tasks as assigned to support project needs.
Qualifications:
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in rough carpentry or relevant combination of education and training.
• Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and tools.
• Ability to read and interpret construction documents and blueprints accurately.
• Proficient with carpentry tools and equipment.
• Strong arithmetic and geometry skills necessary for various work tasks.
• High attention to detail when measuring and conveying dimensions.
• Solid planning and analytical abilities.
• Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently or collaboratively and take direction effectively.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Must possess reliable transportation.
• Willingness to travel using diverse modes of transportation and work flexible hours, including nights and weekends as needed.
• Valid state Driver's License for transportation and equipment operation.
Physical Demands:
